Barred Letter obliterators for telegram usage.

The Offices and their Barred Letter Obliterators are shown below. The following observations are made here:

  • the impressions are almost all rough and presumably impressed quickly;
  • only stamps (no forms) have been located with Barred Letter impressions and all the stamps are of low denomination - up to 3d;
  • 11 bars surround a circle in the centre of diameter 15 mm;
  • the second top bar and the second lowest bar are both broken by the inner circle. This dose not occur with the duplexes.
  • the only letters in the impression are those within the circle - so no indication of Telegraph Office or Post Office such as happens with duplexes (see below);
